VINTAGE RT: 90s GOTH CLUB

In the late 90s/early 2000s, I used to frequent Tucson’s Fine Line goth and industrial club, RIP. This playlist conjures the spirit of that long lost legend. Tune in from 4-6EST/1-3PST today to listen to the show live on 8ball radio, or check it out later in the retrotransmission archives. Put on your blackest black and goth shuffle to tracks from My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Front242, Switchblade Symphony, XMal Deutschland, Specimen, Alien Sex Fiend, Skinny Puppy, Revolting Cocks, The Wake, Skeletal Family, The March Violets, Bauhaus, Type O Negative, Nitzer Ebb, Sisters of Mercy, The Danse Society, The Cure, NIN, Depeche Mode, Ministry, Christian Death, Clan of Xymox, and more!

After reading this great article, “Propaganda: The Aesthetics of Evil and Why Goth Was a Thing That Had to Happen,” I was inspired to post my vintage retrotransmission homage to the infamous UK Goth Club, The Batcave, from fall 2012.  Put on your black best and get your goth stomp on to the sounds of Specimen, Alien Sex Fiend, Bauhaus, Virgin Prunes, The Birthday Party, Tabathas Nightmare, Xmal Deutschland, etc….
