VINTAGE RT: 90s GOTH CLUB

In the late 90s/early 2000s, I used to frequent Tucson’s Fine Line goth and industrial club, RIP. This playlist conjures the spirit of that long lost legend. Tune in from 4-6EST/1-3PST today to listen to the show live on 8ball radio, or check it out later in theĀ retrotransmission archives. Put on your blackest black and goth shuffle to tracks from My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Front242, Switchblade Symphony, XMal Deutschland, Specimen, Alien Sex Fiend, Skinny Puppy, Revolting Cocks, The Wake, Skeletal Family, The March Violets, Bauhaus, Type O Negative, Nitzer Ebb, Sisters of Mercy, The Danse Society, The Cure, NIN, Depeche Mode, Ministry, Christian Death, Clan of Xymox, and more!

VINTAGE RT: FIFTEEN FEET OF PURE, WHITE SNOW

Well hello, strangers. This vintage retrotransmission mix, a dreamy, mellow and hypnotic one from fall 2012, is perfect for the winter solstice, which is upon us this very night. This is full of everything I like to listen to when the winter really begins to come down and we’re shrouded in sudden darkness: Death in June, Cocteau Twins, Current 93, Nico, Angels of Light, Psychic TV, Swans, Kate Bush, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Joy Division, Tear Garden, The Legendary Pink Dots, Sisters of Mercy, Clan of Xymox, Depeche Mode, etc. Listen on repeat and hibernate until the crocus appears from the frost…

VINTAGE RT: SOME WEAR LEATHER, SOME WEAR LACE…

This time of year, when it gets chilly and brisk, all I want to listen to is 70s, 80s, and 90s goth, and think about how Halloween is right around the corner…

VINTAGE RT: DIRTY BLACK SUMMER

Today I’m posting one of my favorite retrotransmissions of all time: The Black Show. This show, from spring 2013, features rock n roll, goth, punk, and post punk bands paying homage to black. Summer goth reigns.

This set list from several years ago, which I called “Retrotransmission for Retrotransmission” featured some of the punk and postpunk artists that inspired this radio show in the first place! Lots of the tracks on here were included on my original try-out set list that I presented to rainydawg radio. They told me my inclusion of Guided By Voices’ “Hot Freaks” sealed the deal.
