Month: September 2015

On September 6, 2013 I saw Depeche Mode play at Barclays Center, and it was an incredible show. The gorgeous video art, Dave twirling across the stage in his leather harnesses, Martin singing an acoustic version of “But Not Tonight,” the songs they played throughout the show, the sound…I was overwhelmed. Here’s a playlist I made a year prior, in Fall 2012, in honor of one of the greatest bands of all time, followed by the set list from the show.

(Excerpt from ‘Welcome to My World’)

Never Let Me Down Again

After a long hiatus while I moved across the country and settled in, retrotransmission is back! On the eve of the Autumn Equinox, and in celebration of the dropping mercury, I felt it appropriate to post one of my many fall playlists. This one comes from Fall 2012 and features a lot of bands I listen to when it gets cooler out: Front 242, Psychic TV, The Tear Garden, Skinny Puppy, Love and Rockets, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Tones on Tail, 6 Comm, Depeche Mode, Swans, The Legendary Pink Dots, The Creatures, Joy Division, Dead Can Dance, Clan of Xymox, and more. I hope this gets you in the mood for the greatest season there is.
